Assembled where, resp.which coachbuilder? Where was this scene filmed? P.S. It's RHD, so orign Germany seems not to be correct. -- Last edit: 2010-03-21 12:45:51 |

Design responsibility originally for Transit Mk.I and Mk.II was Ford UK. From Mk.III (VE6 model) design responsibility was transferred to Ford-Cologne, Germany in about 1985. Manufacture was in Southampton, UK and Ghent Belgium I think. Both would build RHD or LHD as necessary to meet customers demands they would not be separated RHD made in Uk and LHD in Belgium. Origin Germany I believe looks right, the degree coach-builder/conversion looks relatively minor. -- Last edit: 2010-03-21 13:37:20 |

Is this scene from Australia or Hongkong? The scenery looks like Hongkong, but the plate is Aussie-size. P.S. Was the Transit also assembled in Down Under? P.S. II @Sunbar: the Transit was also made in Turkey. -- Last edit: 2010-03-21 13:43:32 |

"St. John Ambulance" is likely to be Australian I would say (although Hong Kong is not impossible I guess being British in the past). I am aware of Turkey making the Transit although I don't know if they had started manufacture at the time of the Mk.III. I cannot say if Australia assembled the Transit. I guess its possible. |

It is an Australian model. I think they were released here about 1994. Transits inported from that period were UK assembled |

There is indeed a St. John Ambulance organisation in Australia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_John_Ambulance_Australia |

Made in Oz tag then? |

No, because they were imported from the UK. (St. John Ambulance was just the operator.) |
