mazeltough ◊ 2011-05-20 06:22	South African Granadas of that era were fitted with either 2.5-litre (1973-1976) or 3-litre (1973-1978) "Essex" V6 engines, which were manufactured at Ford's engine plant in Port Elizabeth. Basil Green Motors produced the "Perana" series which were approved by Ford and sold and serviced through Ford dealers. Lee Iacocca, who was at Ford in the mid-70s, was so impressed with the V8 Granada that he had one built for him personally.

South African Granadas of that era were fitted with either 2.5-litre (1973-1976) or 3-litre (1973-1978) "Essex" V6 engines, which were manufactured at Ford's engine plant in Port Elizabeth. Basil Green Motors produced the "Perana" series which were approved by Ford and sold and serviced through Ford dealers. Lee Iacocca, who was at Ford in the mid-70s, was so impressed with the V8 Granada that he had one built for him personally.
