The one on the right is 2000+ because the turn signals are white instead of orange. |

Both are clearly 1999.5+ models, not 1996+ models: see the wheels, liftgate and bumper design, roof rack style, body-color trim. The black one is an LE, while the gray one is an SE (it has a roof rack - the XE didn't). |
