That model fits with the fiction(we're in 1962 in that movie and the model was just a '60s Checker Marathon--those bumpers,but,were available also on 1968-1973 m.y.and 'cause some outside details were unchanged for years,isn't easy for me to say if it was a true 1962 one or a later model masked for make seems it as a true 1962 m.y.) |

Not a 1962, but a 1973 note the extended chrome impact absorbing bumpers only offered in 1973. Roof light is a Chicago style lite. This car was own by Chuck Magnola from Bensonville, IL. Mr. Magnola rented many period cars to the Crime Story producers. The roof light is technically run for a Chicago Yellow cab of the period depicted. A 1973 Marathon made to look like a 1962 Checker A9 |

Clearly post 1967 since the Checker has a larger windshield required to meet US federal standards on visability |
