Yes, a 1978-mid-1980's Cutlass. |

Downsized Cutlass.I dont think they made this body style before 1980.And I think the earlier 80s models had 2 lines on the taillight, whereas this has one. My hunch is that this one is closer to an '84. |

You mean the GM [G (RWD)] version? |

There were 2 Cutlasses-the 2 door, which the Hurst and 442 were based off of, and a boxier 4 door like this. |

The 1978-79 Cutlass sedan was that ghastly fastback or "aeroback" which was a sales disaster. This is a 1980-84 model and there is no way to tell what year. |

Per "American Car Spotters Guide 1981-1990", Wade is correct. That makes 2 '83 Cutlass sedans in the same parking lot. |

How can you tell it's an '83 and not any other year from 1981 to 1987? |

I dont think think they had these taillights until '83. They had two lines on the earlier ones (which gave it a 3-piece look), as opposed to the 2-piece style seen here. Also, the backup lights were at the bottom of the taiilights, unlike these.Ive looked this car up and have not found anything earlier than '83 with these taillights. |

Like I said, there is no way to discern what model year this Olds is, it just isnt possible. -- Last edit: 2010-01-12 04:59:51 |
