This scene was the reenactment of the capture of Dillinger's girlfriend, Evelyn "Billie" Frechette who was arrested by the FBI at her apartment in Saint Paul, Minnesota on the morning of the 9th April 1934. For harbouring Dillinger, she served two years under the Federal Harbouring Law in the Federal Correctional Institution in Milan, Michigan. And like this scene depicted above, Dillinger was there watching the FBI taking Frechette into custody from a block away and he want to attack the FBI agents in a attempt to rescue her, but he had an accomplice with him who told him that it was risky and that he would most likely be shot and killed by the FBI agents if he attempted to rescue her. -- Last edit: 2023-02-02 17:30:50 |
