Bentley Mark VI -- Last edit: 2009-12-30 08:28:01 |

The position of the swage line over the rear wheel suggests that this might be an R-type rather than a Mk VI. Is there another view showing a bit more of the back of the car? |

First date of release (according to RDW/license plate infos): 30 June 1953. So indeed it is an R-Type. |

My R-Type was registered just one week before this one, on 23 June 1953. It would be interesting to compare chassis numbers, but this car does not appear in the Bentley Drivers Club records. Why would it be RHD if originally registered in Holland? |

It was imported to Holland on 10 February 1982, so not originally registered in Holland. But I think it was possible back then to order a RHD car as well. |

Dutch registration documents include the original date of registration where ever. This car has been imported later in its life and has been restored (with incorrect earlier wheeldiscs) by Bart Holland, who may still own it. He did own it for years. All R-type originally supplied to the Netherlands were LHD, but not so the Mark VI which for some time (before '49 or early '50) only was available in RHD. |
