Indeed a rare car, the filming was done in the harbour of Gothenburg and the cars are supposed to be lifted aboard the swedish america line M/S Kungsholm (1928-41). In reality I suppose they just came from america with that ship. I guess this is some kind of export plates.

About Swedish license plates, I found this in my 1938 ANWB Auto-Almanak:

1. Cars and motorcycles have license plates with black letter(s) and numbers on a white background.
2. These plates have no function in connection with payment of taxes.
3. Motor vehicles of the Royal Family only are fitted with a crown; army and marine motor vehicles have a shield with three little black crowns.
4. Government motor vehicles have a plate with the word "Tjänstebil".
5. Motor vehicles that are not yet registered get red plates with white characters. Trailers that are not yet registered get green plates with white characters. Foreign motor vehicles with no customs papers get by virtue of the authorities a white plate with red characters.

And then follows a list of letters belonging to Stockholm and the different "Län"s.

Interesting info, those temporary plates looked like this: /vehicle_259275-Studebaker-Big-Six-1924.html

They were supplied by the police and were valid for 30 days to give the registration office time to give the vehicle a proper license number.

There was also a dealerplate available, green with white letters, and a shield reading AH. AH for Automobil Handlare [cardealer]. These plates gave the dealer the right to drive any of his untaxed cars temporarily.

The plates of the Roosevelt are supposedly american since the car probably just arrived to the harbour. But that´s of course hard to be sure of.

I'm a bit puzzled by the size of the plates. That doesn't look American...
