I would say this conversion was fairly easy and probably only involved fitting a timber framed load box over the rear chassis. The rear seats were not always fitted as standard (they were actually optional extras). The shorter front hood was also an option available from BMC-Austin/Morris.

This level of 'conversion' could have been carried out by anybody, I believe, not necessarily a bodywork maker.

Given that LYP 794D appeared a couple of years later in this episode: /vehicle_288686-Morris-Mini-Moke-1966.html, I would say that LYP 792D is also part of the BMC press fleet, but it is strange that it carries a London, rather than a Birmingham registration.

Episode filmed January 1967.

My Father-in-Law purchased LYP 793D from ATV Film Studios 30 plus years ago and at that time it was painted white (not green anymore). He was advised that it had done service as one of the ubiquitous taxis that featured in "The Prisoner". LYP 793D then underwent a restoration and at my Mother-in-Law's behest, was ironically also painted yellow like LYP 792D..! Good to find out that this little car also "starred" in an episode of The Avengers too. The car is still being driven today, I was out in it this afternoon.

Hi there

I appear to own LYP 794D which is now going to undergo restoration back to original, currently white (and orange) and has been sitting idle for the last 10 or 11 years
