Being a Hungarian movie I wonder if this wouldn't be rather a GAZ M-20 Pobeda... |

Hungary seems to was the biggest export market for Warszawas. But from this angle it is hard to be sure, which one it is (I mean can also be a Pobeda). Maybe BBD saw some badges. -- Last edit: 2009-11-06 14:07:05 |

Sorry, I don't remember why I believed that one is a Warszawa, and the white one is a Pobeda. In the movie we can see the front of the black car from too far or too close, just the windscreen. It's true there were a lot of Warszawas in Hungary but they disappeared because of the rust. In nowadays there are one or two of them in perfect condition in the hand of classic car collectors. I saw the green one last week. |

The export of Warszawa M20 started in 1954. |

There were abut 25 of them (acc. to Wikipedia) in Europe (both sides of iron courtain), Asia, Africa and South America. |

You have deserved a ![]() ![]() As Western countries, I guess Finland, Austria and maybe Belgium, or? |

This four countries at first. More countries a bit later. :P 1955 will be even better because first cars for export rolled out lines in second mid of 1954. |

Belgium perhpas was also one of the first countries, as during the first serious modernization (later model '57) they took into consideration some notices of the Belgian importer. Except Austria I can confirm all these countries. Some numbers were also send to Norway and perhaps few other countries. |

With bootlid handle in lower position it's more probably 1950-1954 Pobeda. |
