DAF555 ◊ 2009-09-17 03:08	On US-market these were basically called VW Sedan and from 1971 models they also used the nickname Beetle in sales material for the older style VW. The new models (1302/1302S, on euromarkets) were called Super Beetles instead, this was carried on for the 1303/1303S. S came for 1971 models to show that the car was eqiupped with the larger engine, since that wasn´t evident from the modelnumber anymore.
