That's because it was made for Oiseau Postal LaPoste. There is really no make or model for it, apparently no name for it, either... -- Last edit: 2026-10-19 13:19:43 |

My in-depth research revealed that, alongside Fenwick and Charlatte, the SNCF and PTT La Poste used PEG vehicles starting in the 1950s. However, only PEG models feature the following design: the driver sits in the open, with the battery serving as a backrest. That said, I have not yet been able to identify the specific model that has large rear wheels. Problem might be because they are older than the 1:87 H0 models. |

It looks as though Griffet only built three-wheelers, but I hadn't heard of Saxby before... |

APPAREILS DE MANUTENTION / P.E.G. The first generation of PEG tractors around 1955 is said to have had smaller front wheels and to have been green when used by the SNCF. The solution to the mystery may lie in the two-line inscription omitted with 2nd generation 2nd generation simply marked PEG came with 4 similar wheels. |

PEG = Petit Élévateur Gerbeur However i am convinced we are pretty close to it! -- Last edit: 2026-10-24 00:40:59 |
