this trucks are unique because they have no frame

Quote he tube or body of the truck acted as the frame and everything was welded and pinned to it. The cab was fully walk through and near level in height with most sidewalks around the city so getting in and out during collection was very easy. These trucks also had a really good turning radii. These trucks also produced insane compaction rates due to their designs. The engine was mounted in the center of the body and suspened above the ground by brakets mounted to the tube/body of the truck. Older ones in the fleet had Detroits for power and later on had Cummins engines.

The Mythbusters used one of these once, and by "used" I mean "turned into shrapnel": Link to "www.lodinews.com" (It was described by the owner as a "junker".)
