It was one of 100 such trolleybuses purchased from Ansaldo in 1962 by the Istanbul trolleybus system, and which entered service there in 1962 and 1963. The Istanbul system closed in 1984. No. 18 was one of several Istanbul trolleybuses later (circa 1985–86) acquired by the Izmir trolleybus system, becoming No. 118 in its fleet (by 1989, at least).
