The rear fender puts it as maybe being a later model F-series, 87-89. I would like to say that this truck is also the F-150 4x4, I wasn't sure, wanted to guess it as being the 250, but, even in it's "customized" state, the ride height isn't correct for a 250 series. Here are some images of a similar 88 F-150 4x4, they're as close as I could get. Incidentally, you can see only one of the fuel filler doors on the left of the rear fender of the bed, usually F-series pickups had 2, but, if the image that I found is the right one, then this F-150 had the dual tanks and has the second fuel filler cap obscured by the armor plate. Single tank F-150s had their fuel filler doors ahead of the left rear wheel.http://images.cars.com/main/DMI/85804/234142.jpg http://images.cars.com/main/DMI/85804/234142.02.jpg |

This was definitely a 1980-1986 model, it can't be newer than that.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A second F-Series truck was also used by the Resistance, possibly of the same generation as the main F-Series: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2013-01-08 10:47:02 |

It appears at first to be an 87-91 truck because the wheel-wells have been radiused to fit the larger tires. I wouldn't be surprised if they used a 2wd truck for this. If you look closer you can see the marker lights on the front fenders up high that denote it as an 80-86 truck. |

For some reason, I get the feeling that this is an F-250 ![]() |

You know, thinking on it now, and, as I've watched the movie more than once, if you think hard about it, during the time that the scene was set, who's to say how original this particular F series truck actually is?, I suspect that the Resistance probably got the truck and used several other F series for parts. Honestly, think about it - I mean, sure, having an intact vehicle would be ideal, but, given what the Resistance had to work with, and, as the future didn't allow for many new vehicles, this could - "could" have been a homemade job. Makes you wonder if the production team thought along similar lines? |
