I agree that this is a Hotchkiss hood and would go for a ca 1908 Hotchkiss 20/30 hp six.In spite of the hughe price , Hotchkiss sold some 20/30 hp and 40/50 hp sixes in the States in particular in California |

Not actually California, in fact it's pre-Hollywood, filmed on the East coast (Fort Lee NJ) with a very fake Western backdrop. |

Not sure what it is, but have my doubts on it being a Hotchkiss. I dont think it is a round radiatior. Distinct horisontal line including the rad, suggesting a profile. Is there a front-on shot? Regards Vintman |

No better view unfortunately, Vintman. There's some writing on the side. Looks like a capital R, ends with rus??![]() |

It looks like "Rollinus," but I can't find any evidence of a car by that name. |

Does it read Rainier ? http://www.prewarcar.com/show_article_photo.asp?id=3455 Both cars have 15 ribs on the bonnet but the similarities end there. |

Rainier's (according to my encyclopedia of automobiles) were made in the USA (Saginaw, Michigan) between 1905 & 1911. -- Last edit: 2009-02-13 11:03:01 |
