That is the LAD cab, not the FG which is much smaller and has the "threepenny bit" rear pointing doors. Could be a Bison or a Hippo, or even a bus chassis, but again we need specialist information about the NSW Fire Brigade.

UK Comets not normally found with the long-door LAD cab, but Australian built versions may have used it on local assembly or on any specialised (e.g. fire engine) bodies. Cab access for fire crews may have been improved with the larger door and lower step-height.

Certainly this 'cab before engine' was used in South Africa on some Comets.

To make an identification: using Beaver as common in the UK with the note that Comet may also possible in Australia.
