This is...certainly an interesting choice. I'm still appalled at what apparently passes for public broadcasting's children's programming in America. I've seen modern South Korean cartoons that looked better than this. |

If this is going to be ID'd as a Riley - I can see some rationale - One-Point-Five is a better idea, despite its A30 rear. When I'm Emperor, I'm going to issue an Imperial Decree that cartoon artists have to have seen pictures of whatever it is they're trying to draw, before they start drawing it. Any offenders will be made to eat tofu burgers without any ketchup while standing on their heads for a month - that'll teach them. |

I didn't grow up with cartoons. My sitter was the only one who had a TV when I was a toddler, and as a result I was absolutely terrified of television. When coming to America I reserved a special kind of aversion to educational TV shows that talked down directly to the viewer ("Can you... "Do you"...?) or presented world facts and culture in a non mature, too kid-friendly sort of way. My early childhood heroes were Rasmus Klump, Krtek the Little Mole and Pettson and Findus. If you wanted to captivate me with educational TV, try a show set on an ocean liner loaded with cars where people teach you about flags and countries. -- Last edit: 2026-09-14 19:54:28 |
