1985-1986 Duplex D-350 / EEI According to Legeros Fire Line, Greensboro FD operated Duplex engines, which this rig looks to be at least one of them. GFD’s page Firewiki is mostly incomplete. ![]() |

Assuming Mike962 is correct in this being an E-One, the next possibility would be a 1987 Hush — not a Cyclone. The same source — Legeros Fire Line — shows GFD had at least one 1987 and two 1988 Hushes in service.![]() |

^ I haven't found a Hush that has that big vent in middle only a window and an extra large rear one hence think a Cyclone ![]() simply put all the visual evidence screams E-One Cyclone from 80s -- Last edit: 2026-06-09 20:19:49 |

^ So zooming in - which will likely appear pixilated, both of the E-Ones listed on Legeros Fire Line has the air intake vents you’re referencing, however, the 1987 is the open cab design, and the 1988 is enclosed. The thumbnails on Mike Legeros’ webpage is non-clickable, so zooming in is the only way to magnify the images. He also doesn’t have much in the way of GFD’s older apparatus on his Fakebook page either. 1987 1988 (2) So if this is an authentic GFD engine, it’s either the Duplex or the 1987 E-One |

^ notice the door, it's absolutely impossible this being a Duplex , it's the very distinct E-One shape , they started doing their own chassis and cabs in 1985![]() https://fire.fandom.com/wiki/E-One_Inc. -- Last edit: 2026-06-09 20:43:51 |

The Cyclone (before the 1990s) was a mid-engine truck, and the Hush was a rear-engine truck, hence no vent on the side. Starting sometime in the early 1990s, the Cyclone changed to become a front-engine truck as the industry moved away from mid-engine. |
