A few more photos. The truck's grille says Iveco and "682 N3", although looks more like a Turbostar or 190 series one instead.

According to https://www.zuckerfabrik24.de/fiat/50n2dat.htm .

If I interpret it correctly the Fiat 682 N3 was originally made 1962-66 and onwards until 1970 with round cabin, but another version, called 682 N3 Export, with squared cabin, was made during the years 1970 until 1982.

IVECO was founded in 1975 to amalgamate the brands FIat, OM, Lancia, Unic and Magirus-Deutz into one brand. It was used together with the former brand names until 1980 when those were phased out and replaced with IVECO, only.

If so, perhaps a 1980-82 Iveco 682 N3

I found the exact same truck on Instagram, but it has the Fiat logo where it's supposed to say "682 N3" and it's marked as being from 1988.

Not 1978? A 1988 Iveco had a different cab, if I understand this correctly.

What does it say on the badge above the grille?

682 N3...

Unless it's a 170-190 model, as I mentioned, or one from the same series you mentioned (which unfortunately I can't find, and instead I only see the pre-1975 628 N3), that likely was sold as "1988 628 N3" in Venezuela, at least by the time the movie takes place (2/27/1989, cause the Caracazo).

I had found another offer from a seller in San Cristobal, and another one in Cojedes (picture lower) with the same model and indicating it as being from 1988.
