This has the Diesel badge. Not sure when those started? In my 1981 brochure they say the Detroit Diesel was new for 1981. However, more research is needed for that. Bumping up to 1972 for now based off the lower badge position. |

according to wiki 1st diesel was in 1963 and list 4 other diesel engines apart from the Detroit one ( i think they might be saying that the use of Detroit engine was new for 1981 ) |
