But noooo, we had to have a Confederate apologist and 'romantic’ who had to get as close to the CSA as he could get within the legal framework of the US by segregating the country and re-legalizing a racist organisation that was banned since Reconstruction. Also he inadvertantly paved the road for Hitler and WWII by demanding absolutely crushing concessions to Germany in the Treaty of Versailles. Plus the League of Nations which was of absolute bollocks use. One good thing: he laid the basis for the new states in Eastern Europe.
