They are really trying to get rid of all police 159's, do they?

Single exhaust, so not a 2.4 JTDm like real units (and of course being now 20 years old would anyway be a prop).

wow this thing is 20 years old already? i always thought it looked really modern. Wish it was sold in the US outside the world of Driver: San Francisco....

Yes, it seems very strange to me too, but early ones are now a little more than 20 years old..

Still quite modern indeed. A friend just bought a 2009 Sportwagon 1.9 JTDm this summer, we spent a whole day detailing it and it really looks fascinating both from the inside and from the outside, coming with a lot of options (navigation, leather seats, sunroof, 17 inch sports alloys, aluminium trim etc.). Good handling as you usually expect from an Alfa Romeo, but imho not as good as the 156 or Giulietta 940

Well, the 159 is a bigger and (especially) heavier car than those two (based on a wheelbase thought for E-segment cars, even if heavily upgraded), and anyway the 156 is particularly nimble and great under that aspect. Your friend's is before or after the 2009MY update? Because in that occasion the set-up was definitely much upgraded, the car lost some weight and the handling became definitely better. A friend of mine has a 2010 2.0 JTDm sedan and the improvement is clear. Probably the best fit for the car was the 1750 TBi available after the update (which anyway is very uncommon) or the 2.0 JTDm coupled with the new chassis.
