It's real (Link to "www.gettyimages.com") Any Indycat experts wanna comment what this is? |

There are a lot of different angles on Getty. The twin bulges in front of the cockpit might be distinctive. Footage was filmed at Walt Disney World Speedway, uploaded to Getty in 2012. The track was demolished in 2015. There was an "Indy Racing Experience" operated at WDW Speedway using "real IndyCar Series Car[s]": https://www.wdwinfo.com/recreation/Indy-Racing-Experience.htm - That is an archived site; the link for more information about the cars is dead. The Getty footage appears to be this exact car, #8: Possibly a Dallara chassis with Honda engine? Here's car #8 on Alamy, captioned "USA Indiana IN Indianapolis Dallara Indy racing car factory and museum visitor's center - used race cars in warehouse": Link to "www.alamy.com" -- Last edit: 2026-02-01 21:07:44 |

Looks like a mix of Dallara IR-02 and IR-03. The IR-02 is from before Honda was an engine supplier in IRL, though. |

^But that refers to the two-seat cars. The Indy Racing Experience also had single-seat cars the customers could drive themselves. The bulges on the 'hood' and the air intake look like the G-Force GF05, which never used Honda engines in competition: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-Force_GF05 -- Last edit: 2026-02-01 21:21:04 |

I think it is likely this exact car: https://www.mecum.com/lots/527448/2002-g-force-indy-car/ Link to "ryno.co" When Jeff Ward drove it in the 2002 season it was a GF05C with a Chevrolet engine. He won the 2002 Boomtown 500 in Texas. So as of 2022 it was wearing livery to promote an event that never actually happened, lol. -- Last edit: 2026-02-01 21:49:33 |

![]() so a frankenstein old single seaters are relative cheap , almost anyone can buy them but they have no engines... or equipment to run them -- Last edit: 2026-02-01 21:41:25 |

That was satisfying to track down. I wish I could get paid to do this. |

Possibly the same car that won at Texas in 2002. Jeff Ward's lone IRL victory. https://www.indycar.com/Videos/2019/01/01-10-Classic-Rewind-Texas2002 Ward also ran a Miami Heat livery at Homestead-Miami Speedway that year - so, this car might have sported multiple NBA liveries as well. -- Last edit: 2026-02-01 21:54:00 |
