At the "Twister the Ride" in Universal Studios Orlando Resort, there is one of these Dodge Caravans hanging from the ceiling of the entrance to the ride. ![]() |

There were approximately 4 in the movie. Eddie Stockman did hear Jo say "...to see 10 people on the side of the road and not stop.", But She didn't mean in the Dodge Grand Caravans! I don't know how many people were on Jonas' team but I do know that 2 people went in each Grand Caravan and they used them for storage but they did not carry the D.O.T.s in them. Believe me, I saw this movie a lot of times and one of the Grand Caravans's trunk door was open in one of the scenes and I saw no D.O.T in it. Ok, You're good! ![]() -- Last edit: 2008-02-09 04:57:13 |

I own one of the1996 Dodge Grand Caravans that used in the movie Twister. I bought it in 2001 with 69,000 miles on it. The car was custom painted black for the movie from its original dark green as black was not a factory color that year. They had 6 vans that were used for the movie using 3 in each scene. 4 were straight from the showroom and 2 were engineer cars that were used by Chrysler for test on fit and reparability. They put about 4,000 miles on each van making the movie. The only modifications besides paint color are some holes drilled in the luggage rack to hold some “radar Boxes” for the movie and the ignition does not need a key to start it. I think they did that so they didn’t have to mess with figuring out witch key belong to with van since they were all the same. After the movie, the four standard vans we sold at a dealer action in Nevada and were all bought by Fry Dodge in McKinney, Texas and sold as demonstrators. One of the engineer vans was used in the movie King Kong and was destroyed. The other was sent to a collage or Teck school. I bought the van off of eBay from a lawyer in Dallas Tx. that used it as a family van. I still own the van. |

Is it allowed in Florida to sleep on the beaches? ![]() ![]() My wife only grumbled "Ah, you again, with your always negative and pejorative nagging!" when I tried to show her the comments. And she had prohibited me to bring such bad vibrations to my parents-in-law. O.k., no problem, I'll go back in my usual reluctance-shyness-mode and will wait quietly for the upcoming things ![]() |

Apparently, one of the vans that was used in the film got sold for $900 about a year ago on Facebook. Owner says it hasn't run for 8 years and he had the transmission rebuilt at around 10,000 miles. Its been sitting for a while to say the least... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
