I believe it doesn't have alloys and is painted in an metallic colour (colour code 136, Cypress Green Metallic) available MY 1979. Because of that I'd say it's a 1979 Volvo 264 GL or GLE https://volvotips.com/brochures/240-260/1978/Volvo-264-1978-US-ad.jpg and https://www.autominded.net/brochure/volvo/1979VolvoWagonsUSA%20Pg2-3.jpg . Since the series is supposed to take place in 1972 during the Nixon Watergate scandal, there are many period incorrect vehicles in this image. Starting from the left, there is the Volvo 264, the Chevrolet S-10 Extended Cab, Datsun 200SX 2nd generation, Ford Fairmont, Chevrolet Citation, and Ford Granada ... to name several. Also, the 'Boy-lesque' show, according to Google, debuted at the Silver Slipper in 1977. I don't know how the creators of Duster flubbed this one so badly. My only guess is that this was stock footage from around 1983 (or newer) and the Duster was superimposed into the shot. |
