'KIAMASTER' |

KiaMaster indeed. I thought it was a model name, the Kia Master. But it turns out it was a separate brand for utility vehicles from the 1960s to the early 1980s. It started with the K-360 three-wheeler, as explained here. https://www.motoya.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=14956 "The K360, the first three-wheeled vehicle that Kia Industries introduced under the Kia Master brand." (as translated) The branding was seen in adverts (기아 means Kia, 기아마스타 Kiamaster). And was applied to larger models, like this Boxer. And it wasn't just for the korean market. Here's a Brisa pickup in Greece. https://twitter.com/car9723/status/1423737778739716100 And I saw one today on Facebook, registered in Chile under the Kiamaster brand as well. So I'm tempted to update the ones we have on the site from Kia to Kiamaster. That would mean a dozen Brisa pickups, about a page and a half of early Bongos, some three-wheelers and a few trucks. What do you think? |
