Having four bars in the grille should make this likely to be a Volvo PV 444 Link to "sv.wikipedia.org" . But it doesn't have bumper ridges Link to "static.bonniernews.se" nor does it have the indicators on the top of the roof (see first picture). As it also have narrow overriders, that might instead point towards a PV 830-series. PV 831 had a partition glass between the driver and the passenges, while the PV 832 didn't. PV 833 and PV 834 were distribution vehicles. Most PV 831/832 were used as Taxis. But all of them I've seen have three bars in the grille. The 1953+ Volvo PV 831 Disponent Link to "www.fijen.se" had four bars in the grille, but the Disponent also had two extra lights and 'metallic' paint in either a blue or a red colour. It also had loads of extra equipment like better upholstery, velor carpets, armrest in the middle of the rear seat, two cigarette lighters, a short wave radio and reverse lights. (The Disponent (= ENG: Head of bigger company) was a more luxurious, executive, version). I don't know if only the Disponent had four bars in the grille or if that grille came on a specific Model Year. Any more frames available? -- Last edit: 2025-11-19 22:39:20 |

@JB That's enough for me. It was just too far away to make a proper judgement. It's incredible how similar all the models of Volvo were in those days. One more example; Volvo 1950's 340-series Link to "www.google.com" . |
