Even in the GDR it was rare. Too luxoury, so the Coupé and Cabriolet were mainly exported. Mainly tom COMECON-countries, but also a few to the West. Anyways, when the Wall was fallen down and all GDR-citizens got Western money (and Western cars), they'd thrown nearly Eastern cars into the garbage, even such rare cars (and during its production.time, the Wartburg 311/312 wasn't too bad). I remember (even West-) German-junkyards around 1991/92, where such rare Wartburg's were stapled for dozen's. -- Last edit: 2008-12-07 09:38:59 |
