Probably the cars used are in need of restoration anyway or are due to be broken for spares if they are in such poor condition that restoration is impossible. If the cars are not totally destroyed, as in most cases, I believe the production company do not own the cars, so probably the cars on loan from enthusiasts and are in need of front wings or front panels and grilles due to rusting. The damage will be carefully restricted during filming and the car then restored with a contribution from the production company. |
