I could be mistaken but doesn't that say Golf GL? any way this car has a semi rare (at least nowadays) Hella Heckblende.

This Heckblende (made by KAMEI, available aftersales market, but also the the VW-dealer) was a popular extra in the 80ies. The car on the 2nd thumbnail has a KAMEI-grille, too, the version with the round foglights.

@tonkatracker: if you are interested, I can buy these 80ies plastic applications for you. They are to find on every spare parts market around here, NOS and originally boxed.

I thought that this one was a Hella one, Isn't the KAMEI one #3 in this picture?

I know Hella made a Heckblende for the Jetta two in both the red/amber and the red/smoked, if you can find either or both of those I will gladly buy them ingo--they are nearly impossible to find here.

Also ingo have you seen any window louvers for the Jetta II like This with your VW connections? I cannot find one for sale anywhere online and I really would like one.

All-red ones looks impressive, were they supplemented with all-red taillihghts?

@Nightrider yes the Hella Magic Color Lights were offered in all red, blue, green, yellow, clear, all smoked, and half smoked for the Golf II as well as front turn signals and indicators to match.

Here is an all red example from a Golf III but you get the idea: http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh266/gartown/red.jpg

I have the smoked and blue ones for my Golf Cabrio III: Link to "i1338.photobucket.com"

However, this GOLF and GTI letterings makes me think, that they also reuire an aftermarket bumper with place for license plate.

yes every car I have seen with those (there is a mk1 Rabbit down the street with one that says rabbit) just have the license plate screwed to the bumper or hanging below it. They look quite bad actually because they are out of place. The lettering Golf or GTI or whatever does look neat at night though because they mount over-top of the license plate lights so they glow with the tail lights.

In fact, would be interesting to fabricate real full-length taillights with this...

Huh, tonkatracker is on the hardcore 80ies-trip :D

I will see, what is possible. To find that stuff for a Jetta is a bit more tricky, as none Jetta ever, neither I, II, Vento or Bora, were popular in Germany. The Golf was and still is much more popular than its Sedan-brother. In America and Eastern Europe is was totally different. Over there all Jettas were very successful. In Germany the Jetta had its best time after 1990, because many older ex-DDR-citizens have bought it (caused by the "Wartburg-syndrome", as I call it), but in West Germany the Jetta always had the reputation as the typical grandfather's car.
For that reason such sportive bling-bling-extras weren't sold that much. Rather http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/301/klorolle.gif No kidding: I've found this pic -it's a Jetta I- in the Golf I-Forum. A Jetta-owner has asked, where he can find this feature to pimp his car in the "granddaddy-style"
