Very cool find, I doubt many 360's we're sold in the US! -- Last edit: 2025-02-23 04:32:10 |

^ Prepare to be (mildly?) surprised. US got 360s during 1968-70, and 5590 were sold in 1970. No data found for 68 & 69 figures. |

https://subarudrive.com/articles/subaru360-drivers-club-parsil That seems like quite a lot, even though this only the 9th sighting in the US on the database (not counting the Sambar-based kei trucks). |

Subaru America was started in 68 by Malcolm Bricklin who a few years later built the Bricklin SV-1. After that folded and Fiat officially withdrew from US, he set up import arrangements for Bertone-badged final versions of X1/9 and 2000 Spider. He moved on in 1985 to importing Yugos and this century began bringing in Cherys. Seems like an interesting character. |

I believe these cars got banned because they didn't meet safety regulations. It was one of the first cars that Consumer Reports rated as "Unacceptable" that affected their sales. In their crash tests, it folded up so badly, it was a certain death trap, even at low speeds. |
