No this has an International chassis. 3700 or 3800. This is a 2002 model. (Some US districts label there buses by the year purchased, "02-10" refers to the 10th bus purchased for 2002.) The International 3700 and 3800 were produced by International specifically for Blue Bird all the way up until 2005, no other company used it after 2001 (except for the modified IC CE bus, which is from International's bus division.) |

I thought so too at first, but the grille on those types of Internationals aren't that aerodynamic. 1986-2005 Intenrational 3800: /vehicle_146572-International-3800.html 1994-99 Ford Medium-duty F-Series: /vehicle_156829-Ford-F-750-1994.html -- Last edit: 2008-10-16 02:58:39 |

These late model medium duty Fords didn't have the latch on the side of the hood. I also don't think i've ever seen one of these Fords with fender mounted turn signals on a school bus. Also there were no 2002 Fords provided to school bus manufacturers, the last was 1998 before Ford sold rights to the bigger F-series trucks to another company (I fogrot which?) that ressurected the Sterling brand and continued producing them, but not a school bus version (the B-series). |

That was Mercedes-Benz, which also owns Freightliner, both of which were previously owned by White. The Medium-duty trucks were kept by Ford, hence the F-650, F-750, and the B-Series school buses that are based on the medium-duty F-Series trucks. As for Sterling, they just started building rebadged Dodge Ram trucks. Interestingly enough, back in 1976, Dodge considered building rebadged International Harvester pickups. |

It is definitely an International. BlueBird did not come out with this style of entrance door until '99. Ford stopped with the B series in '98 but they were considered '97 models (correct me if I am wrong). International chassis were used on Crown (Carpenter), AmTran, Thomas, and BlueBird bodies throughout the '90s. Navistar International was acquired by AmTran or IC and, to my knowledge, was still available to BlueBird and Thomas until 2002. |

Actually Navistar/International acquired/purchased AmTran not the other way around as stated by benzguy |
