I presume this is one of the competition dirt trackers from the lack of a front brake, one that has had an 'off'. There weren't many bikes with a rear disc brake in those days. Is there another view of it? Might help the ID. |

If filmed in '69, and a Grand National event, this is #38 Chuck Palmgren's Triumph. If filmed in '70, and a Grand National event, this is #38 Tom Rockwood's… er… Triumph already? (Rockwood became Triumph 'official' driver for '71, but he could have been riding Triumphs before that. I don't know for sure, for the moment.) (Yes, Rockwood was on Triumph for the miles and TT events, in 1970. We can see him smiling to the camera in this report of 1970 Ascot TT, on youtube. Incidently, but maybe not that much incident since we see #34 Dallas Baker with a camera on his helmet, the tv-coverage was directed by Bruce Brown, the guy who directed On Any Sunday.) -- Last edit: 2016-02-02 06:48:57 |
