They received small minor changes (i.e. different front license tag trim on the front bumpers) The rear was left alone, but on the front of the sedans and coupes they were fitted to allow for the smaller US plates. Example: ![]() This one has New Jersey plates. -- Last edit: 2008-10-02 23:46:25 |

I dont think that this minor detail can count as made for USA, the plate size space is changed in many cars for USA and i dont think we ever take it as a reason ![]() |

In the USA the wiring of the lamps is different. So the turn signals have permanent light. |

I see, but just check other E36 on the site for example, none of them carry the made for USA. |

Yes, that car has a bumper with an US-plate holder (for Japanese size there or spec made available, too, not only by BMW). But this scene of that Bond-movie was made in Germany (München), so the plate is a painful fake. Yes, you can get German plate in US-size, or in annother size, that fits in US-spec-holders - but they are a bit different. |
