The funny story from Roger Moore's "James Bond Diary" that shares his experiences filming the movie (a great read, BTW) is that the driver of this car, which apparently was resprayed red and was wearing film prop license plates was running low on gasoline from all the run throughs in traffic during filming and went looking for a gas station to refuel. He got lost and ended up in Brooklyn, I believe, and was caught by police. He kept pleading that he was "part of the James Bond film", but the suspicious cops brought him to the scene to verify his story. Director Guy Hamilton vouched for him, and kept him out of jail. |
