Renault 18, maybe a Turbo D? |

Side stickers, black (pads) dust on front wheel. Turbo is quite possible. ![]() ![]() |

Indeed, stickers seem Turbo ones, but didn’t they all have the specific alloys? I found this “Type 2” edition which looks very similar but without decals: https://s1.cdn.autoevolution.com/images/gallery/RENAULT-18-2053_4.jpg Not sure if it (or another similar edition) was available in the UK? |

I'm also uneasy if real Turbo wheels. We got Series 2 18s from April 84, including the Turbo apparently with new alloys but no idea what they looked like, but a rare thing as only lasted till July 85; film dates limits much opportunity for an S2 of any sort, ncluding things from the July 85 revamp when less glamorous survivors got more trinkets and were renamed Deauville. GTD was Oct 80 to Nov 83 only but no details listed of sporty bits such as spoilers, but there was a parallel TD, so the GTD must have had some glamorous bits. And to confuse things a bit later, the continuing TD became GTD Deauville in July 85. The other possibility is the S1 run-out Special (March 85) with twin TS and GTS versions. Both came with front & rear spoilers, thick side mouldings and decorative striping. GTS added tints, central locking and electric front windows. If filming dte allows, I guess TS Special might fit this one. |
