Once again, we can't tell it's a [P71] for sure... It's a 2001-2002 model. |

Yes we can ford guy. It has a black trunk/taillights strip, and the taxi models didn't have that until 2006, remmeber ![]() |

2006 wasn't the first year for the black strip on the taxis. Besides, this could simply be a regular fleet model. There's versions of the Crown Victoria that have the fleet appearance (black trim, steel wheels, etc) but that aren't police or taxi-package cars. |

As I've told you before, I don't really know all there is to know about Crown Victorias. And I'm using the term "fleet" a bit loosely. Here's my concern. At the police station to which I am assigned, we have a couple of unmarked 1998+ Crown Victorias. They look like any other regular [P71] model (black trim for the 1999-2000 models, steel wheels with center caps, black grilles, etc). However, they do not have POLICE INTERCEPTOR on the back. They have CROWN VICTORIA written in the back as the taxi models due. Since I don't drive any of those cars, I have not been able to check the VIN, but I hope you can understand where my doubts are coming from. As I've told you before, this probably is a [P71], but I don't like guessing. And no, 2005 was the first year. |
