The rabbit hole continues with these trucks. But I think I finally cracked the VIN patterns on these trucks. So here's a rundown:

1985-1986 Models were still produced under the "International Harvester" make, despite the company technically being defunct by the end of 1985.

All models produced during these years were referred to as the "9370." However, tandem axle trucks were referred as "F-9370" Whether or not the truck was an "Eagle" variant has nothing to do with the actual model it seems:

Starting in 1987, "International Harvester" was rebranded as just "International. This year also marked the introduction of the set-back front axle variants, which the VIN now displays. The Eagle badging was also changed from black to red. The model names for these truck were also changed, and this is where it gets... weird.

For the Eagle variants, they were now known as the "F9370" for tandem versions, and just "9370" for single axle versions. (Note how there's not a dash between the F and 9370)

For the Eagle variants with set-back axles, the same applies as above, however the term "SBA" or "Set-Back Axle" is added.

For stock/non-Eagle trucks. They are no longer known as "9370," but instead, Navistar calls them "9300." Even more strange is the fact that the "F" that signifies a tandem axle variant isn't used even if the truck qualifies for it. On top of all that, trucks without the set-back front axle have "SFA" added to the model name. With "SBA" added to those with the set-back axle.

This confusing system was used up until the 1993 MY as far as I'm aware. Navistar finally streamlined their model names and just referred to all trucks as "9300" models, regardless of whether they were Eagle variants or not. This coinciding with the line of trucks receiving more modern badging.

For this truck though, it would be:

-> 1987+ International F9370 𝘌𝘢𝘨𝘭𝘦

Note the lack of International Harvester badges and the red "Eagle" badge. Despite being listed on all the VIN plates, I don't think it matters whether or not the 6x4/drive type is included. Since the "F" in the model name already signifies that.

Dash between F and numbers for consistency within the database.
