1990+. Regular Oltcits import to Poland started in 1990 and stall around 1993. Earlier car was completely unknown in PL. Both 4-cyl. versions (1129 & 1299 cm) was in sale only. -- Last edit: 2010-01-13 17:46:55 |

"Some Western European markets" (France 100 - % sure YES, UK - 100 % negative), that's all I know about Axel. |

I think Netherlands had it. There seems to be quite a lot of fans of Visas etc (one Dutch website seems to be the biggest fan site of Visa). -- Last edit: 2010-01-13 21:03:22 |

Yes, we had it. |

More than 10 Years ago I had contact to a GSA-freak (I had to get rid od a lot of GSA-parts, which an idiot, who had my hobby-garage before me, has left over there), whose girl-friend was a real Visa-fan. She told me how it was going on on Citroen-world-meetings in France and BeNeLux of the mid-90ies (o.k., a few years ago): roundabout 3000x 2CV, 2000x DS, 1000x Traction Avant - not more than 20-30x GS/GSA and just 1-3x Visa! One of these few Visa's was hers. It happend to her (not only one time), when they were going around the spare-parts-dealers (mention: on a Citroen-fan-meeting!), that on her question, if maybe some Visa-stuff is available, the dealer started loudly to lough and shouted around to his colleagues: "Hey fans, here is someone, who wants to buy Visa-parts! Visa-parts! Can you imagine that? Wahahaha!!" |

Try to buy FIAT Panda [141] parts in Poland. Same reaction possible. ;-) - Rear silencer for Panda, please. For this OLDER Panda. - Two-o-o-three? [model year] - No, one-nine-nine-one. Seven-five-o fire. - (???)........... Are you sure? :P * * * The best fun is when you try to buy FIAT 130 spare parts. Typical answer is: - [Laughing] So strange type of FIAT not exists! FIAT 130 was never officialy exported to Poland. -- Last edit: 2010-01-13 21:57:17 |

I've got a Dutch bruchure of the Citroën Axel... According to the great book "Voitures des Pays de l'Est" by Bernard Vermeylen (ETAI, 2008) the Axel was sold in the West in France, Benelux, Austria, Italy and Iceland. |

Dan hebben we waarschijnlijk dezelfde, ik heb er ook eentje van de 2CV, in stripvorm met Kuifje. |

I think ca. 10 Axels are still around somewhere in Holland. Most of them are now owned by Visa-Club members (Axel, C15, LN(A) are also welcome to the club). Fortunately there is a lot more enthousiasm for Visas and that kind of cars nowadays. ![]() |

@130rapid: if you have problems to get Fiat-parts, just let me know. I can try something. ![]() About the Fiat 130: Weasel had shown us photos from the hyperrare 130p! Specially made for the Polish Nomenklatura, he has said. Btw.: these kinds of reactions I've heard many times in the past by myself. ![]() ![]() P.S. In the showroom of our Fiat-dealer there are a 1973 500 and a Fulvia. ![]() -- Last edit: 2010-01-14 14:23:48 |

Ik denk de laatste... Ik zal eens zoeken in mijn archief, in ieder geval met de Yeti. |

Thanks ![]() Weasel will be a bit angry but I'm sceptic about "Polski Fiat 130p" legend. Yes, I remember books for children (like me years ago) with Polski Fiat 130p drawings. Only drawings. Definitely, few 130s served authorities of People's Republic of Poland. One was the company car for director of FSO factory. After huge crash gave heart for one rally Polski Fiat 125p-3200. It raced shortly, because disappointing handling. Heavy engine provoked hard oversteer. I suppose whole assembling of Polski Fiat 130p was limited to simply change Italian to Polish badge. |

At least one 130 was used by the "Stasi", the DDR-secret service. I've seen it on a photo, where it followed a bus with political prisoners, which just were sold to Western Germany. Yes, sold. Politial prisoners were a big export-product of the DDR. They made more money with them than with Meissen-porcelain, gherkins or "Nordhäuser Korn"-schnapps ![]() But impossible to see, if this DDR-owned 130 maybe had a little "p" somewhere... P.S. This bus really had a feature, known from James Bond-movies: mechanical changeable license-plates. When it passed the border-checkpoint, the driver could swith between a West German and a GDR-plate. ![]() -- Last edit: 2010-01-14 23:51:23 |

Rapid their number was for sure small - no doubts about it. To the way how they were "assembled" I have actually similar feelings, but how it really was we'll rather never know - as I've heard some important documentation of FSO was destroyed in fire at the beginning of so called 3rd R.P. ... Important are the brochures of Polmozbyt from the 1980's. In the 1980's they still claimed that provide support and maintenance of the car type "130p". /vehicle_194889-Polski-Fiat-130p-130B-1974.html -- Last edit: 2010-01-15 19:49:34 |

Maybe that's why we don't know anything sure about FSO numbers of 80s cars production. This is good proof but WSK ordered to print owner handbooks for motorcycles which never came into production. :P One time at least. Definitely they (FSO) thought to sell much more 130p. Well, 132p - as company car - was fast and comfortably enough, much cheaper but less pricking in eyes. ![]() -- Last edit: 2010-01-15 22:19:03 |
