Apparently they weren't (sorry, Mike). The 4cv had been assembled at Renault's UK HQ at Acton, West London http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_4CV#Around_the_world . I thought the Dauphine was too, but evidently it was imported: from Wikipedia: In the United Kingdom, the Dauphine was one of the first imported cars to sell in large numbers, in a market formerly dominated by British manufacturers and local subsidiaries of American manufacturers. -- Last edit: 2012-11-10 20:15:42 |
