The grille looks to be dished so I think it is a '33. I am trying to work out if it is a roadster or a phaeton. |

I'm gonna go with a roadster, because the phaeton's front doors were hinged at the front. |

After looking at more photos of '33-'34 Fords, I found out that some phaetons did have the front doors hinged at the rear, which I didn't know.. Anyway, based on those bumperettes, and the horns, I believe it can be said with certainty that it's model is V8 40 Is there any more shots of it in the movie? |

no more shots...just close ups of the people in it waving. There are two people in the car and then 2 in the back fold down seat. |

If there's a fold down seat, it's a roadster.. it just has the rumble seat option, which didn't change the make or model, and was available on both coupes and roadsters. |

1933 and 1934 Ford Model 40 and 1933 Ford Model C ( some sources still label them as B as in 1932) phaetons had rear hinged front doors of the " suicide " type just as the phaetons and cabriolets. This one is not a phaeton :on a phaeton the rear body end would look somewhat flatter and longer. It is also not a roadster : on a roadster the clip buttons of the side screens would be visible above the beltline on the doors since the picture is sufficiently clear. It is a cabriolet with rollup windows and the spider as on the roadsters. The grille appears dished ( shoveled) with the slim bars as on the 1933 cars. Major point here is the absence of a V8 emblem under the Ford logo on the grille .This was present on the 1933 and 1934 Ford V8 model 40 and on the Timmis replicas of the 1934 cars made during the eighties .So this makes it logically -if correctly restored- a 1933 Ford Model C 4 cylinder Cabriolet with the rollup windows .It would be very rare since only 24 units of this model were produced. With the succes of the V8 the 4 cylinder cars were dropped altogether at the end of the 1933 model run and not resumed in 1934. |
