Excuse me, what? That looked like that over here: Link to "autode-static.de" |

I know the Geo Metro is a rebadged Suzuki :P It's just not often you hear about hatchbacks being offered as a factory convertible. |

This was a quirky idea IMO: Link to "images.ctfassets.net" And not exporting this was a missed chance in itself: Link to "www.motortrend.com" |

Older generations of the Golf were exported as convertibles under the name Cabriolet /vehicle_29122-Volkswagen-Cabriolet-Typ-17-1988.html |

Citroen even did there one with 4 doors: https://citroenet.org.uk/passenger-cars/psa/visa/visa14.html There were all sort of small convertibles in Europe, weirdly I don't think Suzuki tried hard with the convertible Swift here, which was our version of the Geo Metro. The only Metro Convertible we saw: Link to "www.metropower.info" |

The Swift was also sold in the US, but it was more like the poverty version which only had unpainted bumpers and came in basic colors like red, white, silver and blue. Yeah, but you never got the GTI Cabriolet. That was my point. -- Last edit: 2023-11-30 22:02:45 |

Indeed, it used to be common to have convertibles based on small/compact hatchbacks in Europe, think of the Ford Escort too, to name a model sold in North America: Link to "www.autocar.co.uk" The Swift Cabrio was briefly sold here too, but very rare, I only remember seeing one, and a red example is briefly glimpsed in this film: /movie.php?id=256015 but it's not listed. |
