In the fall of 1980 the mark III Escort was really pleasant and futuristic at the same time. I can recall the very first one I saw outside the dealers showrooms and with a plate... a light metallic green L 3 door (quite rare in Italy) whose shade of gren was better in that grey and rainy day. I haven't been a Ford of Europe fan in my life but half a dozen of their design have been worth to remnember. Among them ni my opinion this mark III Escort, the mark I Focus, The Taunus 17 M P3, the mark I Granada, the mark I Ka, The mark II Cortina and above all the Consul Classic 315 and its coupé called Capri.
