She looks like the 1957 Autocar A64 who unfortunately gets blown up in The Enforcer (1976). Such a lovely, truck, too. Sad she ends up with that sort of fate, though. ![]() /v020277.html |

Possibly the most depressing hackjob you've ever seen (it's 3am, go away!), but perhaps it'll help:![]() |

I believe it's an Autocar |

I think that, too, CaMAroFaN. I'm still thinking (and hoping) she's the same Autocar A64 that gets blown up in The Enforcer (1976). Though her grille is different, I'm still holding hope she was reused at least. |

Autocar would imply that this would be a product of one of the "Big Four" brands. (White-Freightliner, Diamond Reo, Autocar, White-Western Star) If it were, it would have probably been built with a standardized White Custom Cab looking like this: I think what happened was that the film crew had an old Peterbilt 351 lying around and gave it modifications to fit in with the rest of the movie. Not too much is different, it's just the square fenders that stand out. The parts look like they were off of an AM General/CCC M915. I doubt that this is a real vehicle that was used by the military, but who knows? -> Peterbilt 351 ![]() |

So, made for movie modification? |

For what it's worth the truck is only seen for a few seconds. Why they even bothered with it I have no idea, but it would seem like an unnecessary expense to modify a truck just for that. That said, they did haul a tank over there for this scene only to not show anything other than its turret, so who knows. Meanwhile, it appears Peterbilt did produce trucks with fenders like that: ![]() Found here. -- Last edit: 2023-09-22 22:01:15 |
