.. so probably upgraded to RS 2000-like spec. But looks like normal-for-68 body, not the strengthened Type 48 shell for race/rally use and Twin Cams etc.

Probably a total coincidence, but plate is very similar to BEV 782G, a works Twin Cam built for 1969 Monte, later winning the 1969 Scottish and Welsh rallies with Roger Clark stirring the petrol. Mikkola wrote it off in a big crash on the 1969 RAC, during the Dalby Forest stage on North York Moors.
