Single axle variants are known as the Peterbilt 270, and the tandem variants are known as the Peterbilt 344.![[Image: peterbilt270.jpg]](http://pics.imcdb.org/30498/23/peterbilt270.jpg) ![[Image: peterbilt344.jpg]](http://pics.imcdb.org/30498/23/peterbilt344.jpg) I've seen some single axle trucks be referred to as a "Peterbilt 344" but I think that's just an error.
