This was entered as a Toyota Cressida, but I'm pretty certain it is a Plymouth Volare |

Not my fault that a lot of old Japanese cars looked very American or European. ![]() @Baube Well, i mean Plymouth's were officially sold in the region during the 70s and early 80s. I'm more surprised that a daily driver survived that long into the 90's (admittedly i know nothing about malaise era Chrysler's).![]() '72 Ad for Plymouth Fury & Chrysler New Yorker): -- Last edit: 2023-07-17 05:36:14 |

well.. personal story : in the mid-80's my dad had a 1976 Volare . I'll admit i'll be forever grateful that it worked perfectly the only day i really needed it to do so but i'll also remember that this thing gave up after about only 2 weeks and was sent to the junkyard... however , this is my only encounter with either Aspen or Volare so my judgement might be affected by my personal experience just curious.. in your pic , is the police car getting a jump start or its the other one ? .. -- Last edit: 2023-07-17 06:55:39 |

Now that you mentioned it, I'm now not sure who's jump starting who. ![]() You actually reminded me that my Grandpa have owned a second hand Plymouth sedan from 1977 or so in the 80s, at least according to my uncle. All he recalls though that it had a 6 cylinder motor of sort. They got rid of it few years later and replaced it with something Japanese. -- Last edit: 2023-07-18 00:53:16 |

yeah, inline 6 was the base engine, at least here ( nicknamed " Slant 6 " ) . my dad's Volare also had this engine |
