Excellent sleuthing....yes, that does look like a "70" at the bottom of the badge. I believe this part of the mine scene segment was filmed in California as the fire truck is used in the same scenes. It was only recently that I learned that once location filming around San Francisco was complete, the fire truck cab was created and shipped to Pinewood for the closeups in driving scenes. I love learning behind-the-scenes trivia about the pre-Brosnan films. At some point recently, it was located in a very disused state (probably not too much calling for an American hook and ladder cab in the UK), and was restored by the Ian Fleming Foundation. Since the trailer is in this scene as well, its California until the later (and slightly more overcast) scenes of the mine entrance, the flooding, the explosion of Grace Jones, etc. -- Last edit: 2024-10-18 05:30:10 |
