I think it's a 240D rather than a 200D , and I wonder if the indicators light is original or from US specification ? Though the car is french and has no objective reason to be US ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2008-05-24 09:32:16 |

It´s even better, it´s a rather rare 240D 3.0 1975-76. The forerunner to the 300D. |

Originally for Italy, since only front fenders lights do exist. in the US this car was already named "300 D Diesel" |

electra225 is correct, it has Italian repeater on the front fender. Don't forget the fog light at the rear ![]() |

And the special rear bumper. |

Interesting. What about Italian over 2000 cc taxes? Didn't include diesels? |

Sorry rljuna2, but back fog lights weren't required in Italy. This was in Belgium. ![]() |

Last Sunday I saw such a 240 D 3.0 on a local oldtimer-meeting. I wasn't striked by the car itself, more by the white 1968/69 steering-wheels, which the owner has cobbled on the 1974+ steering column. I thought, the pre- and post-1974 columns were too different, so that this shouldn't be possible. |

You're welcome. ![]() I still have a question, which noone could answer, also not here, where I've asked that already, so one again: Why were hazard-lamps and lamp-flashers illegal in Italy in the late 60ies and early 70ies? ![]() And annother tiny question: What was the reason of the Austrian law in that years, that the light for the back license plate had to flash, when you have used the lamp-flashers? |

I don't know and I think it is a really good question ![]() Perhaps we can ask our Italian and Austrian friend to answer our question ![]() |

I've done so, but no answer until now. |
